Web Accessibility Statement

Effective · Last updated

Briccs LLC, a California limited liability company doing business as Salinas Marketing, publishes this statement to explain how we approach accessibility on salinasmarketing.com, what standard we measure ourselves against, and how to reach us if something on this site gets in your way.

  1. 01

    Our Commitment

    Salinas Marketing is committed to making salinasmarketing.com (the “Site”) usable by as many people as possible, including people with disabilities. We treat accessibility as part of building a website properly rather than as something added at the end.

    We reference the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C), as a benchmark for our ongoing accessibility efforts. Our goal is to work toward conformance with that standard. We are stating a direction of travel and a standard we measure ourselves against; we are not claiming that the Site conforms to WCAG 2.1 Level AA, to any other accessibility standard, or to any law, and nothing in this statement should be read as such a claim.

  2. 02

    Ongoing Efforts

    Accessibility is not a one-time project. We review the Site as we build and change it, using a combination of automated testing tools, manual checks including keyboard-only navigation, and feedback from the people who use it. Some areas of the Site may be under review or undergoing improvement at any given time.

    Practices we apply to this Site include:

    • text alternatives for images and other non-text content;
    • color and contrast measured against the WCAG contrast ratios rather than judged by eye, with values changed when a measurement falls short;
    • operation by keyboard alone, with a visible focus indicator on every interactive element;
    • semantic HTML with landmark regions and headings in a meaningful order, so that assistive technology can navigate the structure of a page;
    • a “skip to main content” link as the first item reached by the keyboard on every page, which moves focus past the site header and navigation to the start of the page content;
    • form fields with real, associated labels, and required fields announced as such;
    • link text that says where the link goes, rather than “click here” or “read more”;
    • respect for the operating system’s reduced-motion setting: where the Site animates, it checks that preference first and stays still when it is set;
    • no content that flashes more than three times in any one-second period;
    • a layout that reflows to narrow screens and to increased text size.

    Work we know is still in front of us includes continuing to review the longer pages on the Site as we add to them, and re-testing each page against the practices above when its content changes.

  3. 03

    Limitations and Disclaimer

    Despite the efforts described above, we cannot guarantee that the Site is free of accessibility barriers, or that it conforms fully to WCAG 2.1 Level AA at all times. The Site changes; new pages, new content, and third-party components can introduce problems that we have not yet found or corrected. Accessibility is also affected by the browser, operating system, and assistive technology in use, and by combinations of them we cannot test exhaustively.

    We make no representation or warranty, express or implied, that the Site or any part of it is accessible, conformant, or free of barriers.

    To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Briccs LLC (d/b/a Salinas Marketing) and its members, managers, officers, employees, contractors, agents, and licensors shall not be liable for any damages, losses, or claims arising from or related to any accessibility barrier, limitation, error, or failure on the Site, including any failure to meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA or any other accessibility standard or legal requirement. This disclaimer is in addition to, and does not limit, the disclaimers and limitations in our Terms of Use, which apply to this statement as they do to the rest of the Site.

    Nothing in this statement waives any right, or excludes any liability, that cannot lawfully be waived or excluded.

  4. 04

    Third-Party Content

    Parts of the Site may include content, components, or services supplied by third parties, and pages on the Site may link to websites we do not operate. We do not control those third parties, we cannot change how their content behaves, and we make no representations about its accessibility. Their content is governed by their own policies and standards, not by this statement.

    If you run into an accessibility problem with third-party content on or reached from the Site, please tell us anyway. We cannot fix it ourselves, but we can raise it with the provider, look for an accessible alternative, or give you the information another way.

  5. 05

    Contact Us With Accessibility Questions

    If you have difficulty using any part of this Site, if you find a barrier, or if you need information from the Site in a different format, please tell us. Feedback from people using the Site is the most useful accessibility testing we get.

    Email [email protected], or call or write to us at the details below. It helps us if you can include:

    • the page or feature you were using, and its web address if you have it;
    • what you were trying to do and what happened instead;
    • the browser, device, and any assistive technology you were using, if you know them; and
    • how we should reply to you.

    We make reasonable efforts to respond to accessibility inquiries within five (5) business days. If a fix will take longer than that, we will tell you what we are doing about it and, where we can, offer another way to get the information or service you were after.
